Cyclone Robots is a Japanese animated television series produced at Studio Acesky for SurgeAnime. The anime began airing in Japan on July 9th, 2018, and has been picked up for English distribution by NickFamily Studios. The anime was the first anime series broadcast on the TeleUK channel in the United Kingdom. The dub began airing in the United States in August 2018.

A second season has been ordered, which premiered in October 2018. A third season was ordered in April of 2019, to air in the fall of 2019.

A fourth and final season premiered in March 2020. The series is set to end on June 1, 2020.

Characters[]

  • Miho Sazaki (voiced by Ayaka Saitō (Japanese), Stephanie Sheh (English)): A 13-year-old girl who was always interested in magical robots who happens to get one herself after a mishap between an 11-year-old boy.
  • Saito Iwata (voiced by Junko Iwao (Japanese), Veronica Taylor (English)): An 11-year-old boy who didn't share an interest in robots with Miho Sazaki. After being called up to discuss a yard sale, he decided to give his old magic robot to the person who likes it the best, which turned out to be Miho Sazaki.

Plot[]

Miho Sazaki, a girl who was interested in magical robots, happens to get her very own when Saito Iwata gives one to her, because he stated he would give his old magic robot to "the person who likes it the best". Now with a powerful robot, Miho decides to take on the Robot World Cup, which is full of challengers possessing similar robots.

  • Saito Iwata's name is derived from the last names of Ayaka Saitō and Satoru Iwata (the latter of which had no involvement due to his passing over three years earlier).
  • The series is influenced partially by Robot Girls Z, as well as Beyblade.
